For more than two decades, Rob’s work has carried him across continents and callings. In 2002, he founded the Agathos Foundation in response to the AIDS orphan crisis devastating parts of Africa. What began as a response to human suffering grew into relationships with hundreds of churches, schools, ministries, and local leaders across Zambia and Uganda.

Those same tensions now shape much of his writing. Rob writes about faith, public morality, politics, cultural conflict, poverty, abortion, nationalism, justice, and freedom — and the growing inability of modern societies to speak honestly across ideological divides. His work does not fit neatly into partisan categories. He often challenges both the political left and the political right, while insisting that human beings are more complicated than slogans and social media outrage allow.

His writing style is personal, reflective, and sometimes provocative. It is shaped as much by conversations with ordinary people as by public debate, and he is especially interested in the voices that are dismissed, caricatured, or silenced by modern cultural institutions.

Alongside his writing, Rob has remained deeply involved in transportation and infrastructure ventures, including ferry systems and the development of the Velo-City Ultra-Light Train concept — an attempt to rethink affordable urban transit for congested cities around the world.

Through books, essays, podcasts, interviews, and long-form reflections, Rob continues to explore a central question: How do we recover the ability to hear the cry on the other side? Whatever the subject, his goal is not merely to win arguments, but to challenge readers to think more deeply, listen more honestly, and resist the growing pressure to dehumanize those with whom they disagree.
